Dalton Jacobs Wins NC Speedweek Preliminary at Friendship Motor Speedway
North Carolina Driver Earns $1,000 Mid-East 602 Crate Late Model Series Triumph
REIDSVILLE, N.C. (March 17, 2026) — Dalton Jacobs continued his strong track record during North Carolina Speedweek, capturing a preliminary feature victory for the second consecutive year with Friday’s triumph at Friendship Motor Speedway.
After earning a preliminary win in 2025 at Fayetteville Motor Speedway, the North Carolina native added another to his résumé this past weekend, overcoming early electrical issues to secure the $1,000 Mid-East 602 Crate Late Model Series victory.
“It feels good to get things turned around,” Jacobs said. “Hats off to my crew for never giving up and sticking with me. We had issues right out of the gate earlier in the week, but we stayed the course and it paid off. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season. I also want to thank my family, friends, and sponsors for their continued support.”
Jacobs’ week began with Tuesday’s practice sessions, followed by Wednesday’s opening event. He showed early speed but was hindered by electrical issues in the feature, slipping from the front row to a sixth-place finish.
On Thursday, Jacobs set quick time in qualifying and backed it up with a heat race win. However, a flat tire on lap two of the feature relegated him to a 10th-place result.
Determined to rebound, Jacobs returned to form on Friday by capturing his third consecutive heat race victory of the week before leading all 20 laps of the feature to claim the win.
He closed out North Carolina Speedweek with a solid third-place finish in Saturday night’s $1,200-to-win finale.
