Dalton Jacobs shakes bad luck for 525 Late Model victory at Fayetteville Motor Speedway
Home-State Driver Pockets $1,500 Payday
REIDSVILLE, N.C. (03/05/25) – Turning his weekend around after mechanical issues sidelined him in the opening rounds of the North Carolina Speedweek, Dalton Jacobs drove to his first win of the season in Friday’s Mid-East 525 Late Model Series event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway.
The driver of the Victory First Services LLC No. 7J Longhorn Chassis Late Model picked up a $1,500 payday for the flag-to-flag triumph.
"This means a lot,” Jacobs said in victory lane. “After the tough luck we had on Wednesday and Thursday, I was feeling pretty down, but tonight completely turned my weekend around. We’ve got a great group of supporters here, so I want to thank each and every one of them, along with all the sponsors on the car.”
Jacob’s busy week at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway began on Wednesday afternoon with the opening round of the four-day North Carolina Speedweek.
Competing in the 602 Late Model class during the first two nights of competition, Jacobs fought mechanical gremlins both nights which prevented him from taking the green in both features.
Swapping to the 525 Late Model division for Friday and Saturday, Jacobs landed much better luck as he qualified third-fastest out of 10 entries and picked up a heat race victory. Dalton started on the pole of the 20-lap main event and led flag-to-flag to pick up his first victory of 2025.
Jacobs collected a cool $1,500 payday for the triumph.
Dalton wrapped up the weekend with a ninth-place finish in Saturday night’s North Carolina Speedweek finale.
